You’ll learn in small classes taught by faculty with professional experience. They will help you understand and practice business processes, enterprise systems, current and emerging technologies, business analytics, project management and much more. Before your senior year, you’ll have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience through an internship in your chosen field.

You can complete your degree requirements by choosing electives in the Integrated Business program or select one of three concentrations that prepare you for success in specific careers.

Careers and Salaries

Careers, salaries and working environments will vary, depending on the organization that employees you. If you graduate with the BSBA in Integrated Business, for example, you most likely will work in an office building of some sort. Alumni in the Intelligent Enterprise concentration also work in many businesses as accountants, marketers, logisticians, business analysts, or they run and innovate their own businesses. Parks and Recreation Management grads may work outdoors, in community recreation centers or facilities, while Event Planning alumni could work for a large or small corporation, a nonprofit agency or in their own business.

According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, job opportunities for graduates in Parks and Recreation Management concentration will increase 10% between now and 2031,while jobs for Event Planners will jump 18% during the same time frame.

  1. Apply the major concepts from the core functional areas of business in the planning and implementation of a range of events and venues
  2. Evaluate data to support event management decision-making and facilitate event planning and management organizational processes
  3. Display leadership, professionalism, and career readiness skills through experiential learning.
  4. Effectively communicate to diverse audiences, purposes, and situations in a variety of events, settings, and contexts.
  5. Design creative event solutions within the interconnected tourism, hospitality, entertainment, education, sport, cultural, heritage, and recreation sectors.

Intelligent Enterprise

  1. Apply digital transformation to business strategy and competition.
  2. Compare integrated process views of organizations.
  3. Execute enterprise resource planning (ERP) integrated business processes and recognize organizational, master, and transactional data.
  4. Apply key Enterprise Systems (ES) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP)systems concepts and terminology.

Parks and Recreation Management

  1. Demonstrate foundational knowledge in functional business areas
  2. Exhibit critical thinking skills for the collection, analysis, and application of data and concepts
  3. Displays cultural competence for ethical, sustainable, inclusive, and collaborative leadership practices including a global perspective
