Under a special agreement, Pennsylvania Western University offers savings for Pennsylvania State Education Association (PSEA) members who complete designated National Education Association (NEA)-offered Micro-credentials.
Members have an opportunity to earn up to nine (9) credits toward one of our Advanced Study in Education Master of Education (M.Ed.) programs at no cost to them or obtain credits toward professional development (Act 48) at $70 per credit hour.

The PSEA Agreement includes the following concentrations of the Advanced Study in Education M.Ed. program:
For no additional cost, PSEA members meeting the following criteria may have up to nine (9) credits applied towards an Advanced Study in Education M.Ed. Program:
- Be a current student in the Advanced Study in Education program OR apply and be admitted (admission requirements apply).
- Complete specific Micro-credential units as identified in the Agreement.
- Micro-credentials must have been taken within five (5) years.
- Must provide proof of Micro-credential completion. Apply here for the Advanced Study in Education M.Ed. program.
PSEA members who are seeking credits for professional development only (not the Master of Education) for $70 per credit hour must register.

Micro-credentials provide a way for educators to develop their skills to improve classroom

These steps will help you enroll in your micro-credential. Please note, you must be a PSEA member to enroll.
Step 1. Enroll in a PSEA Membership. A membership is required for the micro-credential courses.
Step 2. Once you are enrolled in a PSEA membership, sign up for your desired micro-credential.
Step 3. Once you have completed the micro-credential, return here to verify for your desired micro-credentials graduate credit on the marketplace page. Additional information and payment instructions can be found there.
Step 4. Follow all informational and payment instructions on the marketplace to verify your micro-credential.
Step 5. If micro-credentials are being used toward the Advanced Study in Education M.Ed., forward your completion certificates to gradadmissions@pennwest.edu.
