My PennWest

PennWest Global Online enables medical imaging professionals who are already credentialed radiologic technologists, diagnostic medical sonographers, nuclear medicine technologists, radiation therapists, or medical dosimetrists to earn your bachelor's degree by taking convenient online courses.

Online course work allows you to take classes where and when you need them and to build your academic schedules around work and family responsibilities.

Depending on the type and length of medical imaging educational program you have completed, PennWest will grant up to 60 clinical credits toward the BS, Medical Imaging degree to the following:

  1. Registered radiologic technologists who have completed a JRCERT-accredited radiologic technology program or a program offered in a college or university that holds regional accreditation by a regional U.S. Accreditation Commission.
  2. Credentialed diagnostic medical sonographers who have completed a sonography educational program accredited by CAAHEP through the JRCDMS  or a program offered in a college or university.
  3. Credentialed nuclear medicine technologists who have completed a JRCNMT-accredited nuclear medicine program.
  4. Credentialed radiation therapists who have completed a JRCERT-accredited radiation therapy program.
  5. Credentialed medical dosimetrists who have completed a JRCERT-accredited medical dosimetry.

    Upon completing the Bachelor’s in Medical Imaging program, you will become a highly skilled professional in medical imaging, capable of operating advanced imaging equipment such as MRI, CT, and ultrasound machines. You will be adept at providing accurate diagnostic images and ensuring patient safety and care. This program prepares you for roles such as radiologic technologist, MRI technologist, CT technologist, and other specialized imaging positions. With your expertise, you will be well-equipped to pursue advanced certifications and take on leadership roles in various healthcare settings.

    Career Paths

    • Diagnostic Medical Sonographer: Specializes in using ultrasound equipment to capture images of internal organs.
    • Radiologic Technologist: Operates X-ray and other imaging equipment to assist in diagnosing medical conditions.
    • MRI Technologist: Focuses on magnetic resonance imaging to create detailed images of the body.
    • CT Technologist: Uses computed tomography equipment to capture cross-sectional images of the body.
    • Nuclear Medicine Technologist: Prepares and administers radioactive drugs for imaging or treatment.
    • Radiation Therapist: Provides radiation treatment to cancer patients. Medical Dosimetrist: Develops radiation treatment plans for cancer patients.
