As our population ages and more individuals require care, there is a growing need for high-quality rehabilitation professionals. When you earn your online Human Services degree from PennWest University, you will gain the knowledge and skills you need for a career that is both professionally and personally rewarding.

Our program is led by faculty who are nationally recognized experts in their fields. They help you build knowledge and skills through an interdisciplinary curriculum that prepares you to work in a variety of human service positions in the areas of aging, developmental disabilities and more. In addition, they will serve as your mentors and guides as you successfully navigate several field experiences.

These experiences involve increasing levels of responsibility, culminating in a semester-long supervised internship in a human service agency. Internship opportunities are available locally, regionally and nationwide.

You’ll graduate with a Bachelor of Science degree, ready for a fulfilling career as a case manager, rehabilitation program specialist, activities director or intellectual disabilities manager – or for graduate studies in the field of Occupational Therapy, Social Work or other human service professions.

What Can I Do with a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services?

Graduates of the online Human Services degree assume a variety of positions, including case managers, residential program managers, therapeutic staff support, day service directors, rehabilitation program specialists, intellectual disabilities personnel, substance abuse prevention specialists and activities directors. Others go on to pursue master’s degrees in Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Counseling.
